Initially developed by Dame Elizabethe Alles and her household and friends, The Publick House is a social and relaxation spot for event guests. If you're new to the SCA, this is a great spot to spend some time and ask questionsl
For groups without a local chatelaine, TPH can fill a role at events, helping the host group keep everyone comfortable during a long event day.
Most importantly, TPH is an entirely volunteer effort! It's not an official "event staff" position, nor is it an exclusive group or undertaking. Anyone wishing to bring TPH to thier event, and helping to staff it, provide light refreshments and drinks (water, lemonade, iced tea) or funding are welcome under the banner.
The Publick House organizers are willing to help far-flung groups in the kingdom to set up TPHs of their own, to assist chantelaines and support their offices at events and to help groups without chatelaines provide a welcoming stop when needed.
